• Expanding Medicaid coverage so every Floridian can access affordable care.

Nearly one million Floridians lack access to affordable healthcare because Florida hasn’t expanded Medicaid. That failure hurts families, seniors, and children. It costs our state billions of dollars in lost economic opportunity every year.

Jerry Demings will expand Medicaid to provide coverage for those who need it most, create thousands of new healthcare jobs, and strengthen Florida’s hospitals and clinics. He’ll also hold insurance companies accountable when they hike premiums, ensuring families can get the care they need at a price they can afford.

Jerry Demings has spent his life keeping Floridians safe.  He did this as a beat cop, Orlando Police Chief, Orange County Sheriff, and now Mayor. He knows what works: investing in local law enforcement, community partnerships, and smart technology to prevent crime before it happens.

Floridians pay some of the highest electricity bills in the nation, and families deserve relief. Jerry Demings will take action to lower utility costs by producing more clean, affordable energy right here at home.

He’ll expand renewable power like solar, invest in energy storage, and modernize building codes so new homes and businesses are energy-efficient. Together, these steps will reduce demand, lower costs, and build a cleaner, stronger energy future for Florida.

Protecting Florida’s Environment and Water

Clean water isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline. Jerry Demings will make protecting Florida’s natural resources a top priority.

As governor, he will:

• Enforce limits on over-pumping bottled water sold out of state.
• Invest in aquifer recharge projects to safely replenish groundwater.
• Upgrade wastewater systems to protect our springs, rivers, and coastal waters.
• Increase funding to preserve wetlands and permanently ban offshore drilling.

Clean drinking water is critical to Florida families, communities, and businesses. As Governor, Jerry will enforce limits on over pumping for bottled water that is sold out of state and invest in aquifer recharge projects so stormwater from or treated wastewater can replenish groundwater safely.

He’ll hold corporate polluters and multinational farm operations accountable to keep fertilizer out of our water and reduce toxic algal blooms. He’ll invest in upgraded wastewater and sewage systems to ensure nitrogen stays out of spring water and rivers.

Finally, he’ll work to protect wetlands by increasing state funding for wetland acquisition and protect our oceans by never allowing offshore drilling.

Florida’s strength lies in its communities — from Miami to Pensacola and everywhere in between. But for too long, state politicians have imposed one-size-fits-all mandates that strip away local decision-making.

Jerry Demings believes local leaders know their communities best. As governor, he’ll restore local control, giving cities and counties the flexibility they need to solve problems, grow their economies, and deliver for their residents.

Florida is home to the third-largest veteran population in the nation, with 20 military installations supporting nearly $95 billion in economic activity and 900,000 jobs.

Jerry Demings will make Florida the most military-friendly state in America by:

• Guaranteeing universal occupational licensing for service members and their spouses.
• Supporting affordable housing near bases.
• Ensuring instant school enrollment for children of relocating military families.
• Offering state tax credits to businesses that hire veterans, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses.
